Garena introduced the Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, a six month-long professional gaming league that includes more than 100 live matches. The inaugural season of GPL features six teams comprised of professionals League of Legends players. that represent elite players from different countries. GPL games are recorded and broadcast on-line along with commentary. These games are made available to fans on the official site. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two new teams from Taiwan and Vietnam which brings the total amount of teams up to eight. The teams are: AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. Garena's ESports Stadium, which is a venue that is dedicated to esports within the Neihu District Taipei, opened its doors on November 14 14, 2014. The stadium was constructed partially for the start of the League of Legends Masters Series which is the highest-level Taiwan, Hong Kong, as well as the Macau LoL league that was a part of the GPL. The first month of January in 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League the first women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. This is a regular event held in the second week of every month. The event is meant to promote participation among people who aren't represented, and is open to anyone who self-identifies as a woman. Garena not only organizes tournaments but also offline gatherings as well as events which allow participants to interact.
