Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician. She started by releasing humorous, cleverly written music that tackled topics like race and sexual orientation. She then expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. Also, she received Jazz and classical training before delving into hip-hop as a teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until after she finished her studies. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. This album also featured songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. This latter song was directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. Her resume contained both an author and musician. She was now looking for a new career path in acting. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. It was in June that she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
